2026-09-10

Drawn from 111 UK-listed company filings · 35 material summaries · 2 ONS, 1 BoE, 4 HMT items.

Headline

No profit warnings today; the tape is dominated by capital returns and upgraded guidance from GLV, PTEC and FEVR against a quiet UK data calendar.

What UK Plc said today

The strongest concrete signal is upgraded guidance and larger buybacks, not warnings. GLV raised FY delivery guidance to more than 2,900 homes (from 2,750), lifted EPS guidance to at least 21c and doubled the buyback to €100m; the forward order book is up 62% YoY. PTEC delivered H1 revenue +10% to €425.1m with adjusted EBITDA +77% and US/Canada revenue +161% YoY, reaffirming FY26 adjusted EBITDA of more than €270m. FEVR posted +7% H1 revenue with US +11% cc under the Molson Coors partnership, reaffirmed FY26 and extended its buyback by £30m to £60m. THG grew H1 revenue 7.2% cc to £828.7m with adjusted EBITDA +109% LFL to £42.8m, both ahead of guidance, and flagged a potential c.£78m VAT reclaim from HMRC on Sunwarrior and supplements following a tribunal win.

Trading updates skewed positive. ABF said Q4 adjusted operating profit will be broadly in line but adjusted EPS ahead of expectations. SYS1 guided ahead after 5M FY27 platform revenue +12%. PAF guided FY26 EPS +141–151% YoY on stronger production. Investment company OCI reported a 6.0% H1 NAV return with portfolio EBITDA growth of 9%, while INPP reaffirmed 8.79p/9.01p dividend targets on 99% portfolio availability. Micro-cap SNDA flagged material going-concern uncertainty pending the Matahio NZ acquisition and Timor-Leste PSC remedy.

Statistical releases

  • ONS Economic activity and social change in the UK, real-time indicators — timely faster-indicator refresh; no headline print but the go-to for near-real-time activity read.
  • ONS Experiences of NHS healthcare services in England — service-quality series, more relevant to health policy than markets.

Policy / monetary

[BoE] published only an announcement of the Governor's interview transcript — no new policy signal. HMT: the Economic Secretary spoke at UK Private Capital; a consultation opened on a Mayoral visitor-levy power for overnight stays in England (hospitality-relevant); the FRAB 2025–26 annual report was published; new members were appointed to the NISTA Expert Advisory Council covering infrastructure, energy and finance.

Themes

Capital return is the dominant thread. Alongside GLV's doubled €100m and FEVR's extended £60m programmes, GNS launched a new buyback of up to £60m, OCI has spent £9.4m of a £20m 2026 programme, INPP extended its buyback authority to September 2027 (£27.7m done), PTEC repurchased 1.8% of capital in H1, and SAN spent €469m in the week to 9 September. That is a lot of balance-sheet confidence with zero profit warnings on the tape.

Debt markets are open for large caps: CPG listed a €250m 3.500% 2035 tap and SGE a €500m 4.28% 2032 issue — both terming out at reasonable coupons.

Consumer-facing names are managing visible cost headwinds without breaking guidance. THG cited EU beauty tariffs (from 1 July) and record whey pricing but reaffirmed FY consensus; FEVR pointed to a hedged glass/aluminum cost base. The counter-signal is PTEC adding a dedicated "AI Transformation" risk section — the first time AI-specific regulatory risk shows up as a top-line disclosure category in today's set.
