Headline
UK Q2 GDP and balance-of-payments data land alongside the BoE's September FPC record, while NAH raises guidance on a contract-dispute settlement in an otherwise ex-growth results tape.
What UK Plc said today
No profit warnings in the operating universe. The most material concrete signal is a guidance raise at NAH: settlement of a long-running contract dispute means "profit and cash generation for the current year to be materially higher than current market expectations," with the group expected to be net cash by end-October 2026 (first time since 2014 IPO); underlying operating profit +13%, FCF +43%. SAGA also raised, pointing to H1 underlying PBT £46.6m and lifting FY guidance to £65–70m, flagging that "medium-term targets likely to be achieved earlier than planned."
Reaffirmations dominated the rest: AOTI held FY26 EBITDA in line with consensus despite ceasing new Arizona Medicaid patients; CREO held 50–60% revenue growth guidance but flagged a material going-concern uncertainty tied to its CME stake disposal; DOTL and ECOB reiterated full-year expectations; WPHO confirmed H2 trading in line after H1 restatement from Chinese distributor accounting irregularities.
Downgrades and distress clustered at the small-cap end. HMI "substantially reduced" FY sales expectations to 44,000 tonnes with "very unclear" fertiliser outlook and a going-concern warning. Going-concern language was also added or retained at AEG, CHP, LIT (now in orderly run-off after strategic review with A$165.7m FY loss), PXS and MODE. Three issuers — CASP, HEAD (in administration) and SORT — flagged delayed results and ongoing suspensions.
Capital actions skewed heavily to small equity raises: AREC completed a £5.0m placing at 68p; EAAS launched a £4.0m rescue placing at 0.3p to pay overdue creditors; URU closed an oversubscribed £1.25m placing. The most strategically material deal was JAR/DFI Retail Group's ~US$340m cash-plus-equity move to take full control of its Starbucks Asia licence (1,100+ stores). EARN announced a transformative £23.55m acquisition of GEM Environmental.

Themes
- Guidance dispersion is widening at opposite ends. Both upgrades today (NAH, SAGA) came from idiosyncratic events — a legal settlement and faster-than-planned strategic execution — not underlying demand. The downgrade (HMI) and the string of going-concern flags (AEG, CHP, CREO, LIT, PXS, MODE) point to funding stress persisting at the AIM small-cap tail.
- Suspension cluster. CASP, HEAD, SORT and GCG all remain suspended pending results or RTOs — a reminder that reporting discipline is deteriorating at the junior end.
- Rescue capital, not growth capital. EAAS's 0.3p raise to clear overdue creditors and AREC's runway extension to Dec-27 are survival financings; genuine growth equity today was limited to JAR's Starbucks Asia deal and EARN's acquisition-funded placing.
